The initiative forms part of RCS’s ongoing commitment to staff, with the aim of the classes being to help non-native English speakers to acclimatise to the society and culture they are living and working in.

The lessons proved popular and one member of staff, Luzmilla Blanco Sanabria who attended the Intermediate English speaking lessons which took place from 14th July 2012 until 26th July said: “The English classes that I received were very interesting and helpful.

“The methodology that both teachers Ghulam and Joy used was very appropriate to help me to learn new vocabulary (especially when the internet was used).

“It was a good idea to receive all the contents of my classes through an attachment via email. Now, I am sure that I can interact in a better way with my colleagues, bosses and the clients.

“I am very grateful to RCS to allow me to improve my English. Thanks to the teachers too.”

Luzmilla’s lessons were for 2 hours on one day per week and were focused around language barriers that RCS employees may experience whilst at work. Gemma Bowers, RCS’s HR Manager said, “we are delighted that the lessons were well received by our staff and we are excited about this initiative which we hope to roll out to more RCS staff in the coming weeks.”
