Tennis legend, Boris Becker and former player Mark Petchey took lead of the training session, which aimed at introducing the Upbeats to the techniques of tennis. The Upbeats loved the interactive session and it gave Maggie and Gemma a chance to speak to The Upbeats relatives about the work that CACT do and how it affects their children and also the families.

The Charlton Upbeats is a specific programme for children and adults with Down’s syndrome. The families have such positive thoughts on CACT and the team and are happy to talk about the positive effects that going to the club has on their children. The Upbeats programme helps to improve their children’s social skills, keeps them active and also helps them to make friends and gain confidence. It was so lovely to see the children and adults interacting. They actually end up going to other clubs together and forge genuine friendships with each other.

After an action packed morning, the Upbeats then had the chance to watch Roger Federer defeat Janko Tipsarevi? in two sets in the ATP World Tour Finals.

Regular Cleaning Services are proud to be patrons of The Disability and Mental Health Strand for CACT.
