RCS And The Guardian Join Forces For Wildlife Trust

September 21, 2011 by erjjio_support Leave a Comment

Dina said: “Tom and I spent the day working with employees from The Guardian at Camley Street, in Kings Cross. We were split into three teams and each allocated tasks – digging holes for posts and concreting them, moving soil to fill raised beds and building planters for vegetables.

“The nature reserve is in an extremely built up area and is a pleasant place to spend time, especially for the many apartment and flat dwellers that do not have gardens.

“Many of the local schools bring groups of children to learn about growing vegetables and wildflowers.

“We all had an enjoyable and productive day working as a team, helping with some of the many jobs that need doing at the reserve.

“The team were able to see the work they had completed last year and I look forward to seeing the planters we built being full of vegetables next year.”

Tom said: “It was hard work but great fun and all done for a brilliant cause.”

RCS hopes to carry out more work in the London Wildlife Trust Reserves to help give the local communities somewhere nice to visit and spend time.

£100 Cheque To SPECAL

September 15, 2011 by erjjio_support Leave a Comment

As a participant, the Market Research company gave a cheque for £100 for Regular Cleaning Services to donate to a charity of their choice.  After much deliberation, RCS chose to donate the cheque to SPECAL.

SPECAL (Specialized Early Care for Alzheimer’s) is a charitable organisation with an innovative approach to the care of people with dementia, offering a different and successful way of managing the disease for both the person with dementia and their family.

SPECAL are a small independent charity and do not receive funding from the NHS or Government. They depend on public support to help raise the funds required to run their services and to deliver their unique programme of training for carers and care for people who have dementia.

Ben And Done It!

September 11, 2011 by erjjio_support Leave a Comment

Maggie and James were shaking buckets along with other volunteers at The Valley at the Charlton vs Exeter match where they all collectively managed to raise £300 towards the two charities.

This was all to support a group of 24 people made up of members from the Trust, Kent and Medway NHS and service users diagnosed with psychosis who were climbing Ben Nevis – the highest mountain in the UK.

RCS would like to congratulate the team in successfully completing the challenge. Such a huge achievement.

After 11 years service she will be greatly missed by Guardian staff and all at RCS. We thank her for her hard work and dedication and we wish her the very best of luck with her move and for the future.
