ISYS Document Scanner

March 31, 2014 by erjjio_support Leave a Comment

During the recruitment process the Intelligent Document Checker scans the document and carries out checks on the UV images, infra-red, photos, MRZ (machine readable zones), paper type, ink used, font used etc to validate the passport’s authenticity.

If there is a fail on any one of the checks, this is highlighted as a ‘high risk’ document and the recruitment process is postponed. This information is then stored electronically for future reference.

Once a scan has been completed, the software can produce a summary report, which shows the document information and all the checks that have been carried out.

The report can be printed out, emailed or saved as a PDF.

During the recruitment process HR and Health & Safety also:

• Carry out an RCS Induction
• Carry out a Health & Safety Induction
• Train on core skills

Volunteering With CACT At The Eden Project

March 14, 2014 by erjjio_support Leave a Comment

MAGGIE AND STACEY VOLUNTEER WITH CACT AT THE EDEN PROJECT

The trip was organised by CACT to reward the young adults suffering with psychosis after they spent 2 weeks gaining a City and Guilds level 1 and 2 in Social IT and Employability.

The Eden project involved sight seeing and team building activities such as making pizza and building a do-it-yourself tent which enabled them to improve their social skills.

The trip challenged the young adults but by the end, it was clear they all enjoyed themselves and had grown in confidence.

Maggie and Stacey did a fantastic job interacting with the young adults and helping them to develop their team working skills. Due to the success of the trip, we have been offered another two places to attend the final Eden Project trip taking place on Tuesday 15th April until Thursday 17th April.

“I would highly recommend this trip if you get the chance. It shows you an insight on how others live day to day who suffer from a mental illness, and the simple things in life we take for granted”- Stacey Wing, Periodics and Window Cleaning Administrator.

Bridging The Gap To Success

March 10, 2014 by erjjio_support Leave a Comment

Business In The Community, along with the help of Humanutopia, held an event at The Guildhall to Bridge the Gap between London based businesses and young people at risk. The event was aimed at students aged 13 to 14 who may be disengaged, or at risk of being disengaged at school.

School partners of BITC brought along their students whom they felt would benefit most from the event such as those who lack motivation to learn, lack in confidence and those who have real potential but may struggle academically. As we are partnered with Eltham Hill School, we went along to support the students and took part in several fun activities aimed to help motivate and inspire them.

“Personally I found the day very emotional, hearing the different struggles that teachers have with students but also hearing stories from the students of what life is like for them.” – Gemma Bowers, Learning and Development Director, Regular Cleaning Services.

We will continue to work with Eltham Hill School and do our best to offer the students and staff all the help and support were needed.

For more information on the amazing work that Humanutopia does, please visit their website: www.humanutopia.com

“It’s a programme that changes the lives of young people in a really wonderful way” – Humanutopia

Women In Leadership

March 7, 2014 by erjjio_support Leave a Comment

The event was organised by Gemma and Abrilli Phillip from Eltham Hill School to inspire years 11 and 12 business studies students about women in leadership and to raise awareness about different employment opportunities they may not have known about.

“The girls have been really excited about the business women visiting the school, and they could not wait to hear their stories. We were keen to really inspire them by introducing them to women who have been very successful” – Abrilli Phillip, Vice Principal Inclusions and Partnerships, Eltham Hill School

Gemma invited inspirational business women Paula Tsung, Samantha Bowman, Anne Simmons, Sajna Rahman who also took part in this event. The question time panel was set up in a speed networking style giving the girls from EHS an opportunity to interact with the women in small groups.

This was followed by a powerful and inspiring speech by keynote speaker Sajna Rahman, and finished off with a Q and A session directed to all women on the panel. Not only did the women share their success stories, but also the difficulties they faced in their careers and how they dealt with those challenges to get them where they are now.

“I am really pleased with today’s outcomes. The girls were very engaged and asked some very interesting questions. I also really enjoyed working with some of my business contacts in a different environment. I hope together we managed to inspire the girls”-  Gemma Bowers, Learning and Development Director, Regular Cleaning Services.

“It was nice to take part  in such an amazing event aimed at inspiring the girls at Eltham Hill School, I left feeling rather emotional and empowered” – Mary Wilkins, Graduate Trainee, Regular Cleaning Services

“When you are told you can’t do it prove them wrong” – Student of Eltham Hill School

The feedback left by the students, as well as the volunteers confirmed the success of the morning activity.
