Easter Donations for Local Charities

March 28, 2024 by Lizzie Hill Leave a Comment

We’re donating Easter Eggs to Lewisham Hospital and local charities.

We’re proudly holding our Easter Egg donations for Lewisham Hospital and local charities for a second year running. After the success of last year’s donation, our team have been dropping off egg donations for the last 5 weeks. All donations were collected at our Service Support Centre, ready to spread some joy to our communities. We will deliver these to the Lewisham Hospital and local charities in time for Easter on the 31st March.

We’ve had amazing colleague support with this collection. In our first full egg donation week, we had an incredible 37 chocolate eggs donated at our egg drop off! This had climbed to 104 eggs by the second week alone, with one mystery bunny make a hugely generous donation of 29 Maltesers Eggs at once!

At Regular Cleaning, we really try to make a difference for our communities and we’re so proud that our colleagues join us in this. It’s been amazing to receive such high levels of support with this donation effort. We’ve seen our teams working so hard to make this a success and our company values demonstrated perfectly.

Our total number of eggs donated this year was an amazing 554, beating our goal of 500. This also beats last year’s record of 306 eggs, which is an incredible achievement. These will be delivered to Lewisham Hospital Children’s Unit, local charities and foodbanks.

Thank you so much to each of our colleagues that donated. We’d like to say a special thanks to our clients and partners CBRE, Fab, TailorMade, ACS, Vergo and Mayflower for your magical Easter egg donations. We also want to say a special thanks to Caludia and the team at Thames Court who set up a donation table and sent over 32 eggs from Tenants in the building. We’re so grateful for the support with this.

And a huge thank you to those that put so much effort into organising this donation. We’re proud to have a team so focused on social value and giving back to our communities. Happy Easter!

International Women’s Day 2024

March 8, 2024 by Lizzie Hill Leave a Comment

We’re celebrating equality and inclusion this International Women’s Day.

As a female-led business, we understand the importance of investing in women. On 8th March we will be celebrating International Women’s Day 2024 and this year’s themes of ‘Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress‘ and ‘Inspire Inclusion‘.

These themes highlight the importance of supporting women’s economic empowerment and the development of female talent. We know that women are less likely to apply to top jobs despite having the same level of experience as men, so a At Regular Cleaning we aim to encourage women into leadership roles. We believe that it’s vital to provide women with access to quality training so that they can progress at an equal rate and make informed decisions about their futures. There’s still a way to go in achieving equality, but we strive to show solidarity by championing our female colleagues every day.

International Women’s Day at Regular Cleaning.

We have a series of events planned to celebrate women and their achievements. Here’s some of what we’ve got planned this month:

  1. Inspirational Book Swap:
In our efforts to empower and inspire women, we have organised a book swap at our Service Support Centre. Featuring a range of titles and authors, these books delve into women’s issues, celebrate their triumphs, and explore their experiences. We’ve got a diverse selection across different genres and backgrounds to choose from, with something for everyone enjoy. Through this initiative, we hope to spark conversations, inspire solidarity, and foster a sense of community.
  1. Collaboration with Female-Led Businesses:
We are delighted to collaborate with some local businesses run by inspiring women. From handmade soy wax teacup candles from one of our very own creative colleagues, to vegan food from The Vegan Patty Lady crafted with love, each enterprise brings a unique story to our celebration. We’re thrilled to collaborate with these businesses on International Women’s Day to highlight the diversity and creativity of women-led ventures.
  1. Pamper Event with St Mungo’s:
In collaboration with St Mungo’s homelessness charity, we hosted an Afternoon Tea Pamper Event at a women’s only service in London. This got the St Mungo’s clients together to enjoy some delicious treats, plus some relaxation and self-care. The day included nail painting, face masks, and hand masks, similar to our pamper event last year. The event aimed to extend our support to vulnerable women in our community, create a fun and social atmosphere and a space for well-being.
Investing in Women.

We’re a business that champions women and strives for equality, both in our workplace and in our community. We are proud to have a high ratio of women in leadership roles, which is the result of our commitment to actively encouraging development throughout the company.

In creating inclusive and inspiring workplaces, we support our colleagues to achieve their ambitions. We will continue to work hard to create opportunities locally and ensure that all colleagues feel cared for and treated fairly. We do this with initiatives aimed at empowering individuals from diverse backgrounds, focusing on employment, education, charity partnerships, and volunteering.

Our Gender Pay Gap Report from 2023 highlights our commitment to forging equality within our business, with above average results. This report showed that:

  • We have a 50/50 split between male and female colleagues in our business
  • Our median hourly rate of pay between male and female shows a 0% difference
  • A 3.3% difference between and male and female pay, compared a UK average of 12.9%

There is still a huge disparity between men and women in pay, representation, and leadership in business in the UK. We know that we still have work to do, but are proud to be in a positive place in terms of gender equality within our business.

Remembering why we celebrate each year.

It’s important to remember the reasons we celebrate International Women’s Day each year. This is a day to celebrate the achievements of women everywhere, to honour their resilience, and to pledge to make the world a more equal place where all women can thrive without constraints or limitations.

At Regular Cleaning, we stand proudly at the centre of those who champion women’s rights. As a female-led business, we understand how vital it is to invest in women and make their voices heard. International Women’s Day is a symbol of possibility, strength and the collective efforts of people to uphold equality. We will continue to celebrate, include, and empower women within our business and in the wider community. We know what women can achieve when their contributions are acknowledged and celebrated.
