A Day of Gardening and BBQ with St Mungo’s

We recently announced our exciting new partnership with St Mungo’s, a charity dedicated to supporting people experiencing homelessness. At Regular Cleaning, we believe in giving back to the community and having a positive impact on the lives of those in need. On 12th September, we enjoyed a day of gardening and BBQ with St Mungo’s at a women’s only accommodation service.

1. Gardening: Cultivating a Greener Future

The first part of the day was a continuation of the gardening initiative we participated in last month. We’ve seen the positive impact that gardening can have on the well-being of individuals, and we want to continue this journey of transformation. Our aim was to enhance the outdoor space and make it more welcoming and enjoyable for the residents.

Last month we cleared away the majority of the overgrown plants and trees on the lawn and patio. This time, we rolled up our sleeves and got our hands dirty by clearing more garden space and building a planter for vibrant flowers to grow in. We hope the fragrant blooms and bright colours will not only beautify the garden, but also create a serene and calming atmosphere for the clients.

2. BBQ: Savouring the Flavours of Community

Following the gardening activities, we gathered for a delightful BBQ. The kitchen was abuzz with activity as our volunteers prepared and cooked a delicious BBQ meal to be shared. These included halloumi and vegetable plates, burgers, hot dogs, homemade potato salad and a selection of juices to enjoy. The garden, now a lush and inviting space, provided the perfect spot for a communal meal in the sun.

The BBQ was not just about providing food but creating an engaging and memorable experience for everyone involved. It was brilliant to help create a space where clients could come together and enjoy the activities we had planned. It reinforces our commitment to having a meaningful impact in the lives of those facing homelessness.

“We were so impressed with your hard work and coordinating a BBQ whilst gardening. I know the service and clients are so grateful for your support, so big thank you to you all!
