We pride ourselves on the development opportunities that we offer our employees in order to allow them to progress in their career and gain skills and knowledge that interest them. One of the development opportunities that we offer here is Apprenticeship Qualifications. We have successfully recruited several apprentices over the years who have been able to build on their skills and knowledge within Regular Cleaning to support them in showing the best of their abilities. Ellice joined Regular Cleaning in 2016 to complete a Business Administration Qualification and in only two years she has established herself as a highly valued team member and progressed into her position today within Health & Safety and Training at our Head Office.

Ellice was previously studying an Apprenticeship in Compliance, however she realised this was not best suited to her interests and so she used her initiative and started to look for other opportunities. She found our Apprenticeship job position within the Administration Department and she applied. Initially the company values and the friendly team is what appealed to Ellice when she joined us, however she quickly realised that the Apprenticeship would allow her to develop her skills and progress further with her career. During her Apprenticeship she became more confident in customer service, time management and using technology. This also gave her the opportunity to learn more about the company and build key professional relationships with her colleagues.

During her time studying her Apprenticeship, Ellice established that she was interested in the Health and Safety aspect of the industry and wanted to learn more. We encourage all of our employees to be honest, this is valued within Regular Cleaning. Ellice did exactly that. She contacted her manager and HR to express her interests in Health and Safety and her position was phased from Administration into HSQE, Quality and Training Assistant. Her transition between departments was planned between Ellice and her managers and gradually introduced her into her new role, which allowed her to feel supported throughout and focus on the aspects of Health and Safety or Training that she was not as confident with. We provided Ellice with “Train the Trainer” training which has helped her become more confident in delivering training to employees across Central and Greater London. More recently, Ellice has completed her IOSH qualification which enables her to support the Health and Safety department further by carrying out risk assessments on site. And she is not stopping there! Ellice is looking to continue building her knowledge of Health and Safety procedures by starting her Nebosh qualification next year.

We asked Ellice what advise she would give someone looking to complete an Apprenticeship. She said “Apprenticeships are a great opportunity at Regular Cleaning, it definitely opens up other opportunities. It has helped me to understand which path I would like to take and Regular Cleaning have provided training and support throughout to help me achieve my goals”
