Stop Smoking Pop-up NSS 12.06

At Regular Cleaning, supporting the wellbeing of our local community is central to our mission. That’s why we recently partnered with Gloji to help host a series of smoking cessation pop-up events—empowering London residents and workers to take the first step toward quitting smoking.

About Gloji

Gloji is a digitally focused health and wellbeing service dedicated to helping people improve their lifestyles. It offers practical support for weight loss, smoking cessation, and overall health improvements through accessible programmes and digital tools.

The Beginning of Our Shared Mission

Our partnership with Gloji began when Ela Borkowska, their Community Engagement Lead, connected with our People & Culture team to explore ways to raise awareness about smoking cessation tools across London. Ela’s work focuses on supporting communities that often encounter barriers to traditional healthcare—particularly city-based and manual workers.

United by a shared commitment to reaching underserved populations, we collaborated to host a series of smoke-free pop-ups aimed at increasing awareness and laying the groundwork for potential on-site support in the future.

Hosting the Pop-Up Events

In June, we co-hosted three smoking cessation pop-up events across two prominent client locations in Central London. Held in partnership with local health services, the sessions welcomed anyone living or working in the City of London and the London Borough of Hackney as part of the wider SmokeFree City campaign.

Across the three sessions, we welcomed a steady stream of attendees.

  • 9 individuals signed up on-site for Gloji’s 12-week stop smoking programme
  • 5 others were referred to services closer to their home boroughs.
  • All participants received tailored advice and starter kits to support them in starting—and sustaining—their smoke-free journeys.

Reaching Those Who Need Support Most

The idea behind the successful events was to reach groups that statistically face higher smoking rates and may have limited access to help. These included individuals from deprived communities, ethnic minorities, routine and manual workers, and those with long-term health conditions or mental health challenges. It also aimed to support pregnant women in low-income areas, people experiencing homelessness or substance misuse, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Community Feedback and Positive Momentum

Ela Borkowska shared her reflections on the pop ups:

“We encountered a diverse mix of people, which underlines the strength and depth of the local business community. The majority were very keen to engage and showed genuine curiosity about the service.”

Building managers echoed Ela’s enthusiasm:

“We’re pleased to see people engage and sign up. We’re glad Gloji had a good experience on site, and we were happy to support them in delivering this initiative.”

Looking Forward

We’re proud of the success of these events and are now in active discussions with additional sites across the City of London to expand the initiative. We’re excited to keep the momentum going with Gloji and bring even more support to the communities we’re part of.
