Regular Cleaning Celebrates Third Annual Business Showcase & Awards!

July 10, 2025 by Sasha Costas Leave a Comment

We recently hosted our third annual Business Showcase & Awards—an inspiring afternoon that brought together colleagues, service partners, and clients to celebrate all we’ve achieved together.

Over 55 years ago, Regular Cleaning began as a window cleaning business. From the start, our passion for people, and our unwavering commitment to sustainability and innovation, set us apart. While the business has grown and evolved, our core values remain unchanged—and we’re incredibly proud of that. This year’s event was a celebration of that journey and a meaningful moment to reflect, reconnect, and recognise the strength of our Regular Cleaning community. Together, we celebrated our progress and reaffirmed our shared purpose:

“To create better places for everyone, every day.”

Looking Ahead: A Future-Focused Vision

We kicked off the afternoon with a compelling update from our CEO, Chris Goad, who shared our future-facing outlook and exciting plans ahead.

A standout moment was the announcement that we are now an official Made Blue Ambassador. This initiative allows us to transform our cleaning services into access to clean drinking water for developing communities—and we’re proud to be the only cleaning company in the UK doing this via the Made Blue Foundation. It’s a powerful step in our mission to make a global impact and tackle water poverty.

Chris was followed by inspiring messages from Gemma Bowers, our Chief People and Culture Officer, reinforcing our commitment to purpose-led growth and people-first leadership.

A Keynote to Remember

We were then honoured to welcome Olympic champion Hannah Mills as our special keynote speaker. A silver medallist at the London 2012 Olympics and gold medallist at Rio 2016, Hannah is also the founder of the Big Plastic Pledge—a movement endorsed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), challenging athletes and fans to reduce single-use plastic waste.

Her story was captivating, and she truly inspired the room with messages of resilience, responsibility, and sustainable ambition, encouraging us all to think bigger, bolder, and more sustainably—values that align deeply with Regular Cleaning.

Honouring Our People

Our celebration continued with our Chief Commercial Officer, Luke Bowers proudly presenting 24 awards across nine categories, recognising the exceptional contributions of our colleagues. From sustainability and innovation to leadership and care, each award reflected the very culture that drives us.

A huge congratulations to all our award winners! Your dedication and excellence continue to inspire those around you every day. We’re incredibly proud to celebrate your achievements.

Below is the full list of winners who made us all proud:

  • The Respect for People Award, sponsored by Darwin Clayton, was won by Guillermo Quintero, our Site Manager at 70 St Mary Axe.
  • The Difference Maker Award, sponsored by Tailor Made was won by our Finance Manager, Kaydian Chin-Ha-Sang.
  • Our ESG Champion Award was sponsored by Nightshift Pest Control and won by our Operations Director, Will Whitton.
  • The Innovation for Impact Award, sponsored by Johnson Technical, was won by our Account Directors PJ Walton and Michael Chinakwe.
  • Our Rising Star Award sponsored by Total Pest Control was won by Sandra Poskaite, our Operations Manager.
  • The Collaborative Team Award was sponsored by FAB Cleaning Management and won by the New Street Square Team, represented by Fran, Mo, and Gintare.
  • A selection of Long Service Awards (20, 25 + 30 years) were presented by Chris Goad and Gemma Bowers to numerous long service colleagues for their unwavering dedication.
  • The Exec Team Outstanding Contribution Award, presented by Mayflower Washroom Solutions and Wessex Cleaning Equipment, went to George Twum, our Specialist Cleaning Manager and Ramona Rotaru, our Site Supervisor at 12 Endeavour Square.

Terry Carrigan Award

The final award of the afternoon was the prestigious Terry Carrigan Award, named in honour of Regular Cleaning’s founder. This award holds special significance, as it recognises an individual who truly embodies our core values—someone who leads by example, drives the business forward, and brings passion to every task. Chris Goad presented this award to Victoria Pike, in recognition of her commitment and impactful contributions to Regular Cleaning.

Making a Measurable Impact

In addition to celebrating achievements, we pledged to give back in a meaningful, measurable way. So, for every event attendee, we donated a TOTM period care box to St Mungo’s, our long-standing charity partner.

These partnerships reflect our values in action—and we’re excited to see the real impact we’re making, together.

A Heartfelt Thanks

And that’s a wrap on the 2025 Regular Cleaning Business Showcase and Awards! A sincere thank you to every colleague, client, and service partner who joined us in celebrating.

We’re especially grateful to our incredible partners at Circle Collective, Inclusive Employers, Alzheimer’s Society, TOTM, St Mungo’s, and the Living Wage Foundation—your presence and partnership added so much meaning to the day.

A special thanks goes to our award sponsors—Darwin Clayton, Mayflower Washroom Solutions, Johnson’s Technical, Nightshift Pest Control, FAB Cleaning Management, Total Pest Control, Tailor Made, and Wessex. Your generosity and continued support help make events like this not only possible but truly memorable.

To our inspiring guest speaker, Hannah Mills, and every client and colleague who took the time to attend and celebrate with us- thank you. We’re proud to stand alongside individuals and organisations who share our values and purpose!

Here’s to continuing our journey together!

Celebrating Lasting Impact with TOTM

April 2, 2025 by Victoria Pike Leave a Comment

Since partnering with TOTM in June 2024, we’ve been working together to drive meaningful change across the spaces we support – creating more inclusive, sustainable, and empowering environments for everyone who uses them.

From introducing free, organic period care products across our client sites to challenging outdated stigmas around menstrual health, this partnership has helped us take tangible action on issues that matter. And while we’ve made real progress, we know this is only the beginning.

We’ve also marked key moments like International Women’s Day and Endometriosis Awareness Month, using them to open conversations and drive awareness across the buildings we support. As we reflect on this journey so far, we’re excited to share what we’ve achieved – and where we’re heading next.

A Partnership Built on Shared Values

Our partnership with TOTM is rooted in shared values. As a B Corp-certified business, TOTM is committed to ethical, sustainable period care – offering organic, plastic-free products and actively working to reduce plastic pollution through their partnership with Plastic Bank.

Their mission to promote period dignity and challenge stigma aligns perfectly with our own purpose: to create better places for everyone, every day.

Taking Action on Period Dignity and Planet Impact

Menstrual health remains surrounded by stigma – and in many workplaces, it’s still not treated as a core wellbeing issue. At the same time, traditional period products contribute over 200,000 tonnes of waste in the UK each year.

Our collaboration with TOTM directly addresses these challenges. By providing free, sustainable period products at a growing number of client sites, we’re tackling environmental impact, promoting dignity, and making period care an essential provision – not an afterthought.

Changing the Conversation, Not Just the Products

Providing access to period care is just one part of the journey. To truly shift mindsets, we’ve delivered over 20 pop-ups and webinars across client sites – engaging occupiers and colleagues in open conversations around menstrual health, period stigma, sustainable period care, and endometriosis.

These sessions have helped normalise menstrual health in the workplace, empower individuals through education, and build greater understanding around inclusive wellbeing.

Embedding Inclusivity Into Everyday Spaces

This partnership is helping us reframe how period care is seen: not as a luxury or a private matter, but as a core part of how workplaces and public spaces support people’s wellbeing.

“Working alongside the Regular Cleaning team has been an absolute pleasure. Their dedication to bringing the TOTM Workplace Scheme to the forefront of the agenda across so many London sites has been truly impressive. From the initial client introduction through to mobilisation and education, their commitment has been exceptional.” — Hannah Cole, National Account Manager

We’re proud to be setting a new benchmark – one that shows period dignity, sustainability, and inclusive design go hand in hand.

Turning Values Into Visible Impact

In just six months, this partnership has already delivered measurable outcomes that reflect our shared commitment to people and planet:

  • £267.60 donated to Endometriosis UK, supporting vital awareness and advocacy
  • 222 boxes of period pads donated to InKind Direct, helping community causes across the UK
  • 67.14kg of ocean-bound plastic recovered through TOTM’s partnership with Plastic Bank
Looking Ahead: Growing Our Impact

The journey doesn’t stop here. In the months ahead, we’ll continue to:

  • Expand the availability of TOTM products across more client locations
  • Deliver more events to educate and raise awareness
  • Explore new ways to embed sustainable period care into the everyday experience of buildings and workplaces

This is just one example of how we’re working to create better places for everyone, every day – through partnerships that make a lasting difference.

Want to Get Involved?

If you’re looking to introduce sustainable, inclusive period care to your space, we’d love to talk. Together, we can help shape environments where everyone feels respected and supported.

Apprenticeships in the Cleaning Industry: Success Stories

December 17, 2024 by Victoria Pike Leave a Comment

We know that the strength of our business is built on the growth and development of our people. That’s why we’re incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of four of our colleagues who have successfully completed their apprenticeships. Their hard work and dedication are not just personal milestones—they’re a testament to the value of apprenticeships in the cleaning industry in creating opportunities and shaping the future of this essential sector.

Through partnerships with local authorities, charity organisations, apprenticeship programmes, and employment fairs, we’re committed to breaking down barriers and providing opportunities for individuals to grow and build lasting careers. These efforts are vital in shaping a future where apprenticeships in the cleaning industry create skilled professionals who are ready to make a difference.

Meet Our Apprentices

Abigail Koo-Lap-Hing – HR Support Level 3

Abby completed her HR Support Level 3 Apprenticeship, which focused on building key people management and organisational support skills. Through the apprenticeship, she has developed a deeper understanding of how HR influences company culture and contributes to business success.

“The apprenticeship helped me to build a strong foundation of skills and experience and led me to finding a specialist area, within People Relations (HR) that I enjoy, and has led to my professional development, growth, and career progression within this specialist area. My confidence in myself and my knowledge and skills has massively improved through completing this apprenticeship and I have found it an extremely rewarding and positive experience.”

Cristian Salinas – Facilities Management Supervisor Level 3

Cristian is one of our fantastic Contract Managers, and has completed the Facilities Management Supervisor Level 3 Apprenticeship, gaining valuable leadership skills to manage teams and oversee operations. This qualification equips professionals to thrive in complex environments and ensure the smooth delivery of services.

Josh Cain – Business Administration Level 3

Josh, who began his journey with us as a Sustainability Apprentice, recently completed the Business Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship. This versatile programme has equipped him with essential administrative skills that support smooth operations across the business and offer a strong foundation for future career growth.

“I learnt how it is to work in a team and how that changed my perspective on what a team is and how they operate. I would recommend an apprenticeship; I think it helps to develop and learn more about aspects of the working environment that I think you would usually not interact with through the day-to-day task but learnt through the course work.”

Jodie Ramirez – Business Administration Level 3

Jodie’s journey began as a People Onboarding Apprentice and completed a Business Administration Level 3. Since completing her qualification, she has now taken on a new role as People Relations Apprentice and will continue to develop further within HR.

Why Apprenticeships Matter

Apprenticeships matter because they provide real, tangible opportunities for personal and professional growth. For our four colleagues, completing their apprenticeships has not only equipped them with valuable skills but also given them the confidence to pursue new challenges and career milestones. These programmes allow our colleagues to gain hands-on experience, learn from mentors, and ultimately advance in their careers, all while making a meaningful impact within the company.

For us, supporting apprenticeships means investing in the growth of our people, building a stronger team, and ensuring that everyone has the chance to progress. When our colleagues succeed, we all succeed—creating a culture of opportunity and progression that benefits both individuals and the wider cleaning industry.

Celebrating Living Wage Week 2024

November 5, 2024 by Lizzie Hill Leave a Comment

At Regular Cleaning, we are so proud to be a Real Living Wage employer.

With sustainability at the core of our values, we recognise the importance of paying a sustainable wage to all colleagues. This in turn supports the very best service for our valued clients.

In September 2024, the Living Wage Foundation announced the new wage rates for 2024-2025, with a deadline of 1st May 2025 to implement these. Following the news of these new rates, we’re celebrating last year’s wins.

The Real Living Wage
Let’s Talk about Fair Pay

The real living wage is the hourly rate working people need to afford a minimum ‘decent’ standard of living. We strive for this as we value our front line workers and believe they deserve fair pay. For some, this might mean that they can afford to have just one job instead of multiple, or earn a wage that they can live on and enjoy.

Last year, we set a target for 80% of cleaning colleagues to be enjoying the higher rate of £13.15 by the end of the 2024 financial year. We’re delighted to be able to say that we have achieved a total of 85% of colleagues being paid the Real Living Wage, and 88% paid the London Living Wage by June 2024.

Living Wage Quote

We’ve worked hard to move our colleagues to these higher rates and are proud of our progress and achievements. We know the positive effect this has for both our colleagues and clients, meaning more than just an increase in pay. It also means better quality of life and an improved sense of wellbeing. We welcome this as we’ve heard from our colleagues just how impactful this can be for them during a time of an increasingly higher cost of living.

Stepping Up to Pay a Fair Wage

Naturally the focus is on the welfare of our colleagues, however, it’s important to acknowledge the benefits for clients. There are innumerable benefits to paying the Real Living Wage and employees often share how much it means to them. These include an improvement in motivation, attendance, productivity, and reliability. We look to proactively collaborate with clients to solve any issues surrounding this, and offer support and solutions to those that aren’t confident to move to the higher rates.

“Not having to worry if [I’m] able to pay my bills had a very positive impact on my mental health and increased my motivation.”

Geovani at Lion Plaza
Living Wage Service Provider

Not only does this better the quality of life for colleagues, but also increases the value of service for our clients, through hugely improved retention and recruitment. Our average length of service for our employees is five years. This means that our colleagues are experts at what they do and can provide the best service possible. We want the very best for our clients and know that this comes from providing the best for our colleagues.

As a Living Wage Recognised Service Provider, we strive for a real living wage for all employees as part of our Better Places strategy. Caring is part of our identity and we’re committed to always putting people first. This means caring for colleagues, communities and clients and know that paying a Real Living Wage is part of that.

A Successful Day at the Champions League Charity Football Tournament.

The results of the Regular Cleaning Champions League tournament are in. We’re thrilled to announce that the tournament raised an incredible £2,104 for our charity partners at St Mungo’s, a charity doing amazing work to help those experiencing homelessness.

Cup Final Results: BACB Wins

The final match saw a showdown between BACB and Mayflower FC. Both teams played a remarkable game, but in the end, BACB claimed victory in a 4-3 match, and was crowned the Regular Cleaning Champions League Cup winners for 2024.

Final Score: BACB 4-3 Mayflower FC

What’s Next?

A massive thank you goes out to everyone who attended, donated, and contributed to the success of this event. It wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work of our organisers, or those that participated, supported, and cheered. Everyone socialised, played some great football and the support was fantastic. The amazing support has helped us raise vital funds for St Mungo’s, and we look forward to making next year’s event even bigger and better.

If you’d like to continue supporting this great cause, our donation page is still open here. Congratulations to the official RC champions league cup winners BACB, until next year!

Wellbeing Workshops 2024

August 1, 2024 by Lizzie Hill Leave a Comment

We’re boosting wellbeing with our July workshops.

Throughout June and July, we’ve been offering a series of wellbeing workshops to our colleagues in collaboration with LIFT, Coney, and City of London. These workshops are part of a larger LIFT programme (London International Festival of Theatre), partnering with Coney to bring innovative and engaging sessions to workplaces.

About the Workshops

Colleague wellbeing is a business priority, and it’s important to us that we support and nourish this through meaningful initiatives. These workshops provided a unique opportunity to boost morale in a fun and engaging environment, and potentially in ways our colleagues haven’t experienced before.

Coney, known for delivering high-quality, innovative, and engaging workshops, led the sessions. Their approach focuses on three core elements:

  • Fun: Breaking the routine with enjoyable activities that refresh and rejuvenate the spirit.
  • Wellbeing: Prioritising the mental and physical health of participants.
  • Relationship Building: Strengthening team dynamics and interpersonal connections.
Tailored to our Colleagues

Coney’s workshops were entirely bespoke and tailored to our colleagues’ needs. Our Development and Wellbeing Team started by discussing the business priorities before the sessions, deciding on communication and relationship building.

The workshops were then designed around the unique challenges our colleagues face, ensuring that the most pressing wellbeing issues were addressed. This personalised approach meant that every session was relevant, impactful, and enjoyable. This was so that everyone in attendance could take something positive away.

Workshop Format:

  • Creative Games: Interactive activities that engage and entertain.
  • Missions: Task-based challenges that promote teamwork.
  • Reflection: Moments to consider personal and team growth.

These on-site sessions were designed to fit seamlessly into our team’s schedules so that everyone is able to take part. Offered in 1-hour sessions, the workshops were inclusive, without being disruptive to the workday.

Highlights from Sessions

We had huge success and engagement with the workshops across all locations, with 49 people taking part. One fantastic session saw the building teams getting involved at 125 Old Broad Street, and our final session featured especially enthusiastic participation from our colleagues at New Street Square.

Our colleagues had the chance to open up, get to know their teams, and break down some initial barriers. The structure of the workshops meant that everyone got involved in a comfortable environment, with tasks and challenges completed in small groups. This led to wider group discussions, and our colleagues left the sessions with smiles on their faces having had the opportunity to talk to new people within their teams.

LIFT also filmed part of the workshops in collaboration with Fully Focused. They are the UK’s leading youth-driven production company who supports the next generation of filmmakers and underrepresented talent. They created three short films on their LIFT THE CITY PROGRAMME aimed at broadening access to world class culture and creative opportunities for those often underrepresented in audiences and as participants.

Exclusive Perks

As a thank you to our colleagues that attended the workshops, we offered discounted or free theatre tickets as a token of appreciation from the partnering charities, LIFT and Coney. Our goal was that these workshops would present a fantastic opportunity to enhance morale and foster a positive work environment. Following the success, we’re keen to hold more sessions in the future across our business portfolio. We hope that these workshops were enriching and fun, and would like to thank everyone that made them happen.
